NMR Characterization of Heavy Alkali Metal-Organic Molecule Graphite Compounds Prepared from Highly-Oriented Pyrolytic Graphite
Many different organic molecules can be intercalated into binary heavy alkali metal-GIC’s –. It is expected that the electronic properties of the initial binary GIC will be modified due to the complexation of the alkali ions by the organic molecules . Powdered samples of some ternary GIC’s of this kind have already been studied by 1H NMR – and 13C NMR . In order to have more precise and reliable information, we have carried out 1H and 13C NMR studies with well-characterized samples prepared from HOPG.
