Abstract

Many different organic molecules can be intercalated into binary heavy alkali metal-GIC’s [1]–[6]. It is expected that the electronic properties of the initial binary GIC will be modified due to the complexation of the alkali ions by the organic molecules [7][8]. Powdered samples of some ternary GIC’s of this kind have already been studied by 1H NMR [9]–[12] and 13C NMR [13]. In order to have more precise and reliable information, we have carried out 1H and 13C NMR studies with well-characterized samples prepared from HOPG.
