Abstract
B2B marketplaces have to deal with the various exchange document formats used by their clients. Electronic commerce is based on the electronic exchange of business documents which may have different structures. Even the simplest concept, an address, which appears in each purchase order, is represented with significant differences (cf. [Li, 2000]). Therefore, a B2B marketplace provider has to deal with the heterogeneity of the document formats and be able to translate the documents between different document formats.
