Refixation of Solubilized and Purified Microsomal Enzymes: Towards an Extracorporal Detoxification in Liver Failure

Abstract

Few attempts have been made to solubilize and purify membrane bound enzymes with the aim of refixation to artificial carriers. The main reason is that after solubilization membrane bound enzymes are often less stable due to a loss of natural environment or cofactors and consequently do not allow lengthy steps of purification.
