Abstract
The author has previously [1] verified in’part the theoretical expressions presented earlier for the electrical conductivity of glasses by comparing the calculated with the experimental values. This was based, however, on insufficiently valid theoretical assumptions, and above all the calculations were limited to temperatures lying exclusively below the critical region. The observed conductivity of borosilicates in the stable and labile state may now be explained on the basis of a full theoretical analysis of the expressions for molar conductivity in ionic-co valent systems. We should first compare the experimental and theoretical data for the electrical conductivity of borosilicates in the stable state.
