Generalized Geometric Programming : Computational Studies

This chapter presents extensive computational studies of the global optimization approach for generalized geometric programming (GGP) problems presented in Chapter 8. A number of engineering design problems are addressed for which convergence to an ∈-global minimum is guaranteed. A framework for checking the stability of given control strategies is presented which requires the solution of (GGP) problems, and a number of stability analysis examples are considered. The deterministic global optimization algorithm introduced in Chapter 8 has been implemented with the modeling language GAMS (Brooke et al., 1992) and computational times are reported for all examples on a HP—730 workstation.
