Abstract
This chapter presents the implementation of the GOP algorithm and a variety of computational studies which include problems in heat exchanger network synthesis, pooling and blending, separation networks, as well as concave and indefinite quadratic problems studied by Visweswaran and Floudas (1996b), (1990), (1993). Section 4.1 discusses the various aspects involved in the implementation, including reduction tests and local enhancements at each node of the tree. In particular, the movement of data from one part of the program to another is discussed in detail. Section 4.2 focuses on the computational studies.
