Prospects and Challenges

  • Forrest B. Tyler
Part of the The Springer Series in Social/Clinical Psychology book series (SSSC)

This book has explored modern psychology’s origins, current status, and barriers as well as potentials for future developments. In that process, changes in people’s conceptions of human nature, societal organizations, the nature of scientific knowledge and knowledge systems, and justifications for guiding or remaking our lives and societies were identified. A number of psychology’s earlier assumptions that still present challenges for us as we enter a new century were also highlighted. This chapter is about those challenges and potential resolutions.
