Men’s Issues in Elderly Sexuality
In nearly all cultures, the functioning of the male phallus is tied intimately to a man’s sense of self, body image, and implied social worth. Although empirical studies suggest consistently that elderly men engage in sexual activity into late life with a relatively high frequency, more anecdotal, clinical evidence suggests that older men may regard age-related changes in their sexual response cycle with trepidation, embarrassment, anger, and fear.
