Abstract

Chapters 1–5 concerned the theory and numerical simulation of advection and diffusion. To delineate these processes we took advantage of tracers — Lagrangian particles and scalar concentrations. In practice, however, while using tracer models, we run into difficulties since experimental data constrain the theory.
