Studying Changes in Response Over Time

  • Glen McPherson
Part of the Springer Texts in Statistics book series (STS)

The study of changes in a response variable as a function of time or a time-related variable has many facets. In some instances, the models and methodology of previous chapters may be applied with modification. In a significant number of applications, special models and methodology are required to cater for the lack of independence of responses which arises because of repeated sampling of the one unit or subject. The purpose of this section is to provide guidance in the identification of the correct statistical model and methodology. The remaining sections introduce a special area of Statistics which is known as Time series analysis.
