Abstract
At Exeter in 1972 (ICME 2), Professor Efraim Fischbein instituted a working group bringing together people working in the area of the psychology of mathematics education. At Karlsruhe in 1976 (ICME 3), this group became affiliated with the International Commission for Mathematical Instruction (ICMI).
