Abstract
This text is concerned with the derivation of conditions for finding the minimal performance of a nonlinear system and with the application of these conditions to the solution of selected minimization problems. In this chapter, optimization is divided into several parts depending on the complexity of the geometry involved. Then, example problems and general problems are presented for parameter optimization and optimal control theory. Next, the conversion of optimal control problems into parameter optimization problems is considered. Necessary conditions and sufficient conditions are discussed. Finally, a more detailed description of the text is presented.
