Abstract
Health care facilities are increasingly exploring and incorporating computer-based information systems as a method of managing complex patient care and financial data. Because this type of information management is indeed structured to integrate all sources of data, it is the rare department head that is disinterested in the process of deciding what, how, and by whom information will be collected, dispatched, and utilized. For this reason, the best received evaluation and selection process will include a systems steering committee that is fully representative of all major health care facility departments.
