Abstract
Patient information documentation and review requirements have taken on some very new aspects in the current acute care setting. The nursing professional has always needed to document care given and to review patient information to make care decisions; but in the current environment, those same requirements have taken on qualities of urgency and intensity. With today’s hospital environment of more acutely ill patients and (often) fewer staff, it is imperative that health care professionals have more and better informational tools to assist them in caring for the patient.
