Abstract
In the previous eight chapters, we have explored the science of molecular biology and considered numerous clinical applications of recombinant DNA technology. Our coverage of these subjects was far from complete. The clinical applications which were chosen in the chapters on infectious diseases, genetics, blood, cancer, and environmental medicine were only a few selected examples. There are many other applications of recombinant DNA technology to medicine. This book is only a snapshot of molecular medicine at one brief moment in its rapid evolution.
