Abstract

A hospital’s long range information systems plan should be a product of its corporate strategic business plan. In developing the system plan, the fundamental question to be addressed is, “What information does management need in order to implement its business plan? ” These information needs then are translated into the applications contained in the long range system plan. In evaluating a long range system plan, the fundamental question is, “What is the business need (information need) that each system addresses?”.
