Abstract

It is common knowledge that an organization’s business strategy must be linked to its information technology (IT) plan. To achieve effective alignment, the IT management and governance structures are either integrated with, or a replication of, the overall organization structures. The challenges of creating and sustaining a successful IT governance structure in a complex business organization takes executive commitment, strong leadership, and close attention to the political, economic, and fiscal characteristics of the environment.
