Abstract

To the trained eye, the skin sensitively reflects the body’s general condition. Its color and texture can tell a great deal of what may be going on inside—the ashen look of the patient in shock, the jaundice of obstructive biliary disease, the flush of fever, the dry and wrinkled skin of old age.
