Intelligent presentation and interaction with content is a rather manifold task. Many different application and service scenarios emerge. The list of potential scenarios is large. Some examples are stated here:

content add-ons such as regionalized advertisement banners

broadcast show enhancing sound/audio effects

advanced content adaptation mechanisms

movie scene retrieval

narrative and semantic television intelligently personalized to consumer needs

active content elements as well as content manipulation for TV enhancements

convergence of television, PC and the multimedia home network infrastructure and

universal access to TV content anytime and anywhere as well as to personally created multimedia assets.
