Abstract
Complications connected with retinal detachment either before or, more frequently, after surgery, have been variously defined according to the way in which different authors have interpreted the pathological process (MVR, MPR, MPP). In order to arrive at a uniform terminology, this condition has finally been called RD with PVR. The definition MPP, however, which is in keeping with histological findings, still remains the most synthethic and complete definition of this pathology.
