Abstract

This section uses the idea of a formal protein to model the parameters of its biological prototypes. In Section 5.1.1 we consider an algebraic model, which allows us to determine analytically the spatial parameters of the so-called secondary structures of native proteins. Then, in Section 5.1.2 we propose an approach to modeling the spatial shape of a protein defined by its amino acid sequence.
