Abstract

In modern VLSI/CAD research and development, the placement problem has two noticeable tendencies. First, an effective solution for placement problem is always a hybrid model. Second, placement problem is no longer an isolated problem. Combining placement with synthesis or floorplanning has been the hot area to improve the quality of the entire CAD flow.
