Abstract

Various circuit and system techniques for improving the image rejection performance in wideband quadrature receivers without using off-chip filters have been discussed in this book. Basically, the obstacles for high image rejection in a quadrature receiver are the quadrature errors (gain and phase imbalance between in-phase and quadrature paths) generated in the analog circuitry of a receiver. The techniques presented in this book can be categorised into two broad classes. The first class of methods is to find quadrature signal generation circuits with higher accuracy. The second class of methods is to correct or calibrate those quadrature errors generated.
