On the Use of DMT or FMT for MC-CDMA Systems

  • Luciano Tomba

This paper deals with the effects of phase noise, frequency offset and nonlinear Radio Frequency - High Power Amplifier (RF-HPA) on the performance of Multi Carrier (MC) modulation schemes which may be combined with Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA). In particular, two MC solutions are considered, namely Discrete Multi Tone (DMT) and Filtered Multi Tone (FMT). The conclusion of this work is that FMT may be convenient on DMT for MC-CDMA applications because its performances are less dependent on the subchannel index.
