Abstract
Non-disjoint decomposition were already defined by Roth and Karp in (Roth and Karp, 1962). However, to the best of our knowledge they did not do a systematic study of non-disjoint decompositions. Fortunately, non-disjoint decompositions can easily be integrated into our decomposition procedure of Chapters 3, 4 and 5. Another proposal for the use of non-disjoint decompositions was given in (Lai et al., 1993b).
