Centers for Holocaust Survivors and Their Families
Before there was Vietnam, before there were connections made between trauma and sexual abuse, before any of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manuals wrote about trauma and posttraumatic stress, Holocaust survivors and their families were experiencing the long-term aftereffects of their horrendous experiences. Yael Danieli’s research (1988,1998) and work with survivors and their families was the impetus for others and gave the prototype for survivor-related programs. Several of these programs are described in this chapter.
