Abstract
Many of the centers have been created with the specific purpose of working with refugees and survivors of war-torn countries. In the past few years, the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina has been very prominent in the news and in its impact. This war has led to the dislocation of hundreds of thousands of individuals and the creation of many centers and programs. The most comprehensive of these programs are those in Slovenia, the Rehabilitation Center for Torture Victims in Copenhagen and its “clones,” and the programs growing out of the Department of Social Work in Zagreb. These programs offer much information to persons who are seeking to create comprehensive trauma centers as well as suggestions for future center development.
