Abstract
“Sir, you are unethical!” No matter how firmly I stand on the rectitude of my professional beliefs in a debate, this verbal blast will knock my ego off its feet. It is a terrible thing to utter and to hear uttered. I don’t think that I am alone in my reaction to what is for physicians scathing criticism. No greater character wound can be inflicted than “You are unethical!”
