Quality of Prediction Models

From the last chapter it has become obvious that a number of different factors have an influence on the quality of a service, and that it is not possible to make accurate and valid quality measurements without taking these factors into account. Therefore, auditory testing is required to measure quality. On the other hand, in the planning and set-up of telecommunication networks it is very often not possible to perform auditory tests before the network has been established. The requirement of implementing high-quality systems and services makes it necessary to have adequate planning tools on hand which can reasonably estimate integral quality as it would be perceived by a general user of the ensuing service. Different approaches for making such quality predictions were discussed in Chapter 5.
