Abstract
Risk analysis of dangerous goods transport in Germany typically focuses on the incidence of accidents and related losses. Major effort is spent at solving methodological and statistical problems, in particular in the construction of a computer model of transport safety. Therefore, I am unable to discuss at this workshop transport risks comparatively in terms of compound probability of death. In this paper I will present the results of the quantitative analysis of the risk of accidents and the loss rates in petrol transports as an example.
