Fundamentals of electromagnetism

Electromagnetism is the science that describes the interactions between electric charges, which may be either stationary or moving. This description is carried out by means of four vector quantities which make up the electromagnetic field:
  • the electric field E

  • the electric displacement D

  • the magnetic field H

  • the magnetic flux density B
