Abstract
Global optimization is aimed at finding the best solution of constrained optimization problems which (may) also have various local optima. The objective of Part 1 (Chapters 1.1 and 1.2) is to provide a relatively short and informal survey of the spectrum of models and methods in global optimization, with a few concise references to applications, when appropriate.
