Abstract

This is, possibly, the most important chapter on AMS-LATEX: a discussion of how to display math formulas on more than one line using the constructs provided by the amsmath package. See the inside back cover of this book for thumbnail sketches of some of the basic constructs. For most mathematics articles, three constructs will suffice: simple align, annotated align (which are specials cases of align), and cases, introduced in section 1.4.2.
