Abstract

CIOs have traditionally focused on computer hardware and software as the primary tools of their trade. Bringing the latest technology solutions to his or her organization often received high priority on the yearly list of CIO goals. Clearly, tremendous opportunities rest in the advanced technologies available today. Powerful relational databases, graphical user interfaces and the capabilities of current microchip technologies have opened information doors for organizations in all types of industries.
