Design Aspects for Mixed Analog-Digital Circuits

Specific problems related to the design of complex mixed analog-digital systems on a silicon chip are discussed in this paper. In many cases analog performance is limited by switching noise from the digital circuitry. Mechanisms associated with this effect are identified, and solutions discussed. Finally, examples for a model hierarchy and behavioral simulation are provided.
