Progression of Renal Failure in Analgesic Associated Nephropathy
No more than 5% of analgesic abusers develop analgesic nephropathy (AN), but it remains uncertain whether analgesics or other factors are the only predisposing or causal factor (Buckalew and Schey 1986, Schwarz 1987). In a clinical study, we tried to find out which factors influence further progression of AN once it has developed.
