Standardization Procedures Required by Automation of Blood Component Preparation
Several fully automated instruments have been developed for the selective collection of blood components from one donor based on aphereses techniques. Neither of these instruments could be integrated in the daily routine practise of a blood bank dealing with the preparation of plasma, packed cells and platelet concentrates from single donations of 500 ml of blood.
