Similarities between the Genera Stilbothamnium and Aspergillus

Species of the anamorph genus Stilbothamnium are seminicolous synnematous fungi which are similar to Aspergillus. A morphological and ultrastructural study of Stilbothamnium nudipes shows that this species differs from Aspergillus tamarii only by having septate phialides. The relationship between Stilbothamnium and Aspergillus is discussed.
