Abstract
The biologic function of the fallopian tube, transport of sperm and ovum, may be seriously compromised or entirely destroyed by inflammatory processes or tubal pregnancy. Tumors may interfere with normal function or, if malignant, may lead to death. The etiology and pathophysiology of many tubal diseases are imperfectly understood at present. Progress can take place only with a thorough knowledge of normal anatomy, histology, and physiology.
