Paleobotanical and Geological Interpretations of Paleoenvironments of the Eastern Interior Basin

  • Chapter
Geobotany

Abstract

Several paleoenvironments are recognized on the basis of both floral differences and lithologic variations. It is important that paleoenvironments determined on paleobotanical grounds be correlated with those based upon geological considerations. A variety of paleoenvironments are preserved in and around the Eastern Interior Basin, providing opportunities for gathering both geologic and paleobotanical data.
