Some General Input-output Rules Governing Hall Coefficient Behavior

  • Chapter
The Hall Effect and Its Applications

Abstract

Many calculations of the ordinary weak-field Hall coefficient have been carried out during the 100 years since its discovery. This paper examines a subset of those calculations which apply to transport models satisfying certain constraints. A set of general rules are developed which link the behavior of the Hall factor r (Ro = r/ne) to three basic features characterizing each of those models.
