Summary

The need to expedite the design and manufacture of production tooling to meet the demand for a fast response to product changes is discussed. A library of standard tooling components for use in the design of jigs and fixtures is described and its mode of operation from within a turnkey draughting package is outlined. Plans for the future development of a generative jig and fixture design system are presented.
