Abstract
The continuing need for ever-lighter aerospace structural assemblies has encouraged the introduction of more sophisticated joining techniques in high strength titanium alloys. This trend places a greater emphasis on the quality control, both of the basic wrought or cast materials involved and of the relevant joining technique.
