Extended Energy Loss Fine Structure Studies in an Electron Microscope

Abstract

Extended fine structure similar to extended X-ray absorbtion fine structure has been observed in electron energy loss experiments.1–4 The modulations in the differential inelastic electron scattering cross-section past an absorbtion edge are called Extended Energy Loss Fine Structure (EXELFS) and contain information equivalent to EXAFS.
