Abstract
In the past decade we have been inundated by the numerous successes of the Standard Model (SM), the most spectacular of which are the observation of the weak gauge bosons at the predicted masses. [1] However, the mechanism by which masses are given to these originally massless gauge bosons implies the appearance of a physically observable “Higgs” scalar of unspecified mass, which so far has eluded experimental observation.
