The attention of mankind has historically been directed to increasing security and survivorship. For most of mankind today, this is still the major goal. More recently in man’s story, there has been a drive for improving the quality of life for those populations which have the resources to opt for this. Bare survivorship or high quality of life depend on the availability of nature’s bounty and the development of needed technology to use this bounty.
