Abstract

A few reports are now available on eruption of deciduous and/or permanent dentition in Indians (Shourie, 1946; Nanda, 1960; Nanda and Chawla, 1966; Prakash, 1974; Kaul et al., 1975). This information together with that on physical growth is lacking in the case of the Jats, an important community in northern India. Metric and morphological characters of Jat dentition have been published (Kaul and Prakash, 1981); this paper presents data on dental eruption, attained mean height and weight of Jat boys and girls.
