Abstract

The total cross section σ tot for photoproduction on protons
$$\gamma p \to X$$
(where X stands for all final hadronic states) is approximately 120 µ b for photon energies E γ above 3 GeV and remains more or less constant as a function of E γ or s,the total center-of-mass energy squared.
