High Pressure Pumping Equipment for Cryogenic Liquids

Abstract

To meet present requirements for nitrogen gas at pressures up to 13,500 psi, studies revealed the most practical and economical system to be an immersed, reciprocating liquid nitrogen pump and vaporizer. Originally, “Linde”* pumps of this type were designed for pressures of only about 3500 psi. A substantial amount of experience in the design and operation of such pumps has been accumulated during the last 10 to 15 years. This knowledge was valuable in the development of a 13,500 psi pump.**
