Recent crash programs to improve the performance characteristics of guided missiles and high altitude aircraft have in some cases resulted in an increase of cavitation problems in their oxidizer and fuel systems. These problems are a result of attempts to obtain higher liquid flow velocities through these systems and the use of liquids having undesirable vapor pressure characteristics for such applications.
